Who Are We?

For over 40 years as a registered charity, we have been supporting people and like-minded charities throughout the Vega Baja area.
The Charity is totally reliant upon donations, funds raised from our charity shop in and local car boot, and fundraising events. Working alongside other organizations such as social service departments, the British consulate, and town halls, we offer support to individuals and families without judgment or prejudice.

Our San Miguel centre offers not only advice and information but also includes, a charity shop, welfare team, and mobility equipment hire offering some of the cheapest hire charges on the Costa Blanca with a discount for members of the charity.

Hospital Visiting

Data protection restricts volunteers from visiting patients in hospital. However, we are permitted to visit with the permission of either the patient or an authorised family member. Upon receiving a request to visit, a member of the welfare team will be asked to visit. Visit requests should be forwarded to the charity secretary on 966 723 733 or email direct to office@helpvegabaja.com We are currently also offering regular visits to various residential homes in the area. These are proving very successful, and it is hoped that visits can be extended to other homes in the future.

HELP Vega Baja takes great pride ensuring that our clients can count on us to offer comprehensive support. Our welfare team is made up of volunteers, each with a wealth of experience and knowledge in all aspects of welfare, whether from their work with DWP in the UK, nursing, care environment etc. The team is experienced in supporting people through various benefit applications from both the UK and Spain.

Orthopaedic equipment

We have a mobility equipment hire service at a lowcost to the public and reduced fees for our members. The San Miguel Centre has a vast stock of equipment which includes wheelchairs, walking frames, toilet sea raisers, bath seats and crutches. This service is
available to both residents and visitors alike.

What we do

Events are held throughout the year to raise funds and we can support those in need. This includes charities and those unfortunate enough to find themselves facing financial difficulties. This would not be possible without the tremendous amount of work that is put in by our team of volunteers. All our volunteers work extremely hard throughout the year for our charity, often in the background and we are very grateful for their continued support. If you perhaps have a few hours a week to spare and are interested in finding out about becoming a volunteer with us, please get in touch. We would love to hear from you. There is a wide range of opportunities from office administration to hospital visiting and much more in between!
We are self-funding and obtain all of our income from membership fees, orthopedic equipment rental, donations, and fundraising activities, if you belong to a group or club that raises money for charity, please consider helping us. We always welcome any goods that can be sold or used as raffle prizes.
If you are a member of a local club or group and you think they would be interested in having someone from HELP come along to give a talk, please contact our San Miguel centre to make arrangements.
Our Facebook page (HELP Vega Baja) is proving very popular – please “like” our page and you will receive regular updates on events and activities at HELP plus information that may be of interest to you.
We need to have your up-to-date contact information, please ensure that if you change your address, telephone number or email you notify us so that we can amend our records.
Thank you for your interest in HELP Vega Baja and we would like to thank you for the support you have shown to our charity.
